Once again the fate of the mutant race is in the hands of the X-Men. After an attempted assassination of the president by a befuddled outcast mutant named Nightcrawler, the X-Men find themselves at odds with the rogue government official William Stryker. Stryker's vile plan is to use Professor Xavier's powers and technology to wipe out Homo Superior.
The only hope for the X-Men is to team up with their worst enemies—Magneto and his Brotherhood—in order to stop the plans of this raving fanatic. Can their united force save mutantkind from extinction?
